This is nice illustration by great seomoz and it summarize what I'm saying from long time ago...
They are implementing all these new things to shake off small people and to make more and more $ just for themselves and their shareholders(after all they are company and companies are only into the money making, remember this) and for the companies having some business relationship with them.
And they are smart in this, after all they have smartest guys working for them, they do it the way that people can't understand what is going on in front of their eyes, they are taking small steps one at a time... and always preaching same old BS story "it is all because of user experience", yeah right .

"business is business" smart peoples talk and "bigger can do more"

how to be big? google shows us this way:
    google provide many "free" services /search engine/ docs/ blogger/ mail/ tracking/ adserwer/ aff services/ and many, many more..
Google provide almost all internet services (without **** - but im not sure LOL) also have own browser, few systems (android, and linux based) provide internet connection and electric power ( in few ststes USA) Again "business is business" no one gives anything for free more services more data and other infos about them customers!
So now we can follow by rules of our "big uncle" buing adwords or trying to hef them

"history of google domination" is a perfec lesson for all IM workers.

(if anybody want to write ebook about this I suggested second title: "how to make me look clean after all" or "white knights on dirty horses" )

Google got there by giving, but the CFO wants to take most of it back. Google was much more open before the CFO saw the bandwidth bill.

I like the second option for a title better.

Great infographic and so true. I read about this for the first time a while ago and then when INSTANT came out...it was game over... It especially makes it harder to analyse the adwords data since it's skewed from the beginning... In the end, a paid service like seomoz and your own awstats will be the only reliable numbers. So sad... I miss the easy money organic search days...

"Your friendly local CFO at work..." <-- True Dat.

The "user experience" they're referring to is that of the investors. LOL.
