Which is more important for page rank quality backlinks or quality content?

Regardless of page rank; a lot of high quality pages will get you more tickets in the Google lottery.

Google always prefer high PR Back link for Page Rank and Yahoo always Prefer Quality Content for Page Rank.........So Both are necessary for increase Page Rank.

Content and backlinks help to increase the page rank of your website in search engine. But most importantly content should come first because it helps user to fully understand the services of website you will see the better result of it.

It is true that Google considers quality backlinks while assigning a page rank for any particular webpage, but I would say that quality content is also equally important. I.e Quality content and quality backlinks go hand in hand for a webpage to get more importance from Google.

In terms of page rank, I would have to say content matters more.

I do both, the keyword is not yet good ranking i use adword

I think google prefer quality content
but we prefer better search result

put the quality content at your first criteria or first priority, since last panda update google wanna see quality content that really serve to the internet community, not junk article or content that full of spam content

Good quality followed by high PR backlinks seems to work!

Both are important, but I think it's better to not depend on pagerank and focus more on improving your site and offering original, relevant and quality content that will gain readership. When people like your site and find it helpful, they will link to it, which will automatically help with pagerank.

i totally agreed with your statement, put aside or forget first about backlink campaign, focus 100% on quality content first and then you will get backlink naturally beside backlink from your own campaign,
great quality content + great high PR backlink = dominate SE , many people just wanna to rank fast in SE, so that's why they did not stay well in SE due to poor content
