What I would say that Page Rank is not useless, it is very beneficial for those who are in buying links and selling links.

If you are selling domain names mainly then you would need page rank as well. For selling website you would also need to have good page rank.

Page rank is all relative does not directly determine if you rank well or not...It is pretty interesting though, one of my newer sites was a PR of 0 and was outranking a couple sites of PR 2-3 for same key terms. So in my mind, it does help but is not the end-all-be-all of ranking.

if you are link broker, PR is everything! Higher PR mean higher paid... but if you are traffic hunter, PR is useless, i see hundred times, a poor PR0 website can rank very well in SE than a superb PR6 website

It can be a great system, if properly classify Web sites directly on the content, relevance, and not simply by the number of links on a single site. many people looking for high ranking sites to find compounds in the exchange. Thus, attempts to expand so that its assessment on the site? Not really. Absolutely right. In selling and buying links business, it is the realm of PR. PR does matter for both parties.
Whereas in other case PR has nothing to do with the sites ranking and incoming traffic. Lots of PR0 sites outrank big PR sites.

Yes exactly. The most important thing for ranking is relevance of page content and incoming links anchor text. PR accounts for authority of the page, but it's not as important as relevance. But for backlinking services, high PR pages are very precious.

I'm just speculating here, but I don't think the issue is whether or not pagerank counts. I think that google has released google + so that it will become a ranking factor, giving less weight to pagerank. As google figures out which factors are the best indicators of human behavior, it will give less importance to those that do not.

I would not say PR is useless, I have found though with my clients that PR is not the "be all and end all" of having good links or SEO. Most of my clients have PR0-3, all of the PR0 rank very well in SERPS, and I dont use high PR sites for linking, just highly relevant and quality sites.

PR is not important for positioning on google. And is not important for traffic it is so. But definitely, is important for building backlinks for your other sites and for selling backlins. When Google gives a high Pagerank is because it knows that is a very important site, if that important site recommend another site trought a backlink then Google keep in mind that.

The only thing we marketers needed to worry about is not being PR n/a. As long as every page has PR then you just need to drive traffic.

I have a very good PR0 that is a good earner and a PR2 that hasn't earned me a penny, even though they are a similar business model and similar in rankings. Nuff said.

This could be because the page rank displayed to the public is always out of date. Those PR 0 pages could actually be PR 3 pages, but since the program does not show you the live PR, you cant tell.
Plus there are many other factors apart from PR in ranking, but it is helpful for sure for ranking websites
