Thread: Google Changes PageRank Toolbar URL !!!!

Google just made some changes that have broken PageRank checkers around the Web. Due to a modification to their toolbar query URL, PageRank tools are now reporting N/A for any website.

A fix has been discovered for their primary PageRank toolbar domain (toolbarqueries.google.com), however this fix is currently not working for all of Google's other data centers.

You can make a quick fix to Scriptalicious PageRank tools to get the correct PageRank results from Google's toolbar server.

Open the file /klib/class.kPageRank.php.

Find the following line, around line 182:

Change it to:

 $out = "GET /tbr?client=navclient-auto&ch=" . $ch .  "&features=Rank&q=info:" . $url . " HTTP/1.1\r\n" ; 


If you want to remove non-responsive data center IP addresses temporarily, you can edit /inc/googledc.txt and remove all lines except "toolbarqueries.google.com".

We'll be keeping you updated as we research the changes further to determine if there is a fix for other data centers, or if Google has decided to pull the plug on PageRank data offered by other DC's.

Will look into this... i thought PR have been removed by Google.. maybe they gonna fix it soon

Google has changed the lookup url for the PR value. So in most 3rd party tools the lookup url was not updated. But in Google toolbar, PR value is working fine for all the sites.

Yes they changed the URL of query. This is new query URL http://toolbarqueries.google.com/tbr where previous one was http://toolbarqueries.google.com/search

So that's why my firefox addon didn't work. I thought it had something to do with some change. Thanks for the heads up. I guess I'll be using Google's toolbar now.

Please help. Both new query url and previous ones do not work on my browser.

yesterday all my firefox plugin for SEO already been updated regarding the issues, i use search status and seoboook, look fine to me now

I started to think that my sites was penalized. Now it's all back to normal.

Thanks for this to aware about that our sites not panalized.

Sometimes the pagerank toolbar doesn't stable at all, i use both seobook and search status plugin, but both give different result when surfing to certain website.. according to my observation, search status plugin give more exact result, if not i just need to check it manually

I use prchecker.info to check my PR.
