This is a very long process which takes some time. Then there are a lot of steps which are used to get a page rank, but you should start with SEO first for the site of yours.

If people knew how google assigned PR, it would be useless as everyone would be exploiting it. All I know is that PR is ridiculous and stupid. From my observations, one factor Google looks at is the website design and how well it is designed. I own many websites and I just made a new one with top quality design, and even though it is only a few months old and has almost zero backlinks, it's PR 2.

On the other hand, my main website which has first page and first place rankings on Google that has over 2.5 million backlinks according to Google Webmasters, also has PR 2 and isn't designed so well.

I'm only guessing that design plays a role in PR, and as ridiculous as it may sound, these are my personal experiences.

Page design, load times (I've heard) as well as a few other aspects like back links, content, domain age (It's said to be easier to rank an older site than a newer one).

It is supposed to be easier to RANK an older domain than a newer one, but I don't think that's related to PR. Besides, I've been told by other SEOs that domain age only really matters if your website is 6 months old or less, on average, after that it doesn't make any difference. And they've quoted me examples of it too. I always buy my domains and let them age for a year or so before doing anything with them, but it seems I have to work just as hard to rank well with them.

Thanks for that. Sometimes, with everything you read/see/hear on the net, it's good to have some solid proof? I didn't really have that much work to do to get an aged domain ranked for the company name (which is not much of an accomplishment). That was pretty easy. Working with the keywords was a lot harder as the site was never really optimized well. But now, it is doing well and gaining everyday. IM is still a lot of hard work either way.

Its about the content, the visit, the backlinks natural and from important sites too, the age, the domain name, the onpage seo, the off page seo, the time that visitors stay in it, not in that order, but more or less

Google gives page ranks of any website after showing its quality and quantity of back links, popularity, domain age, quality of content, etc.

Content, content and more quality content...
Don't forget internal linking (in your content) to other pages on your site using relevant keywords containing your main keyword.

Do not only create backlinks using only one jeyword (string), but also use relevant keywords and point them to subpages. For example if you post an article somewhere, create a backlink to your main page and one to a subpage with a similar or relevant keyword.
