is it bad to submit your site to google?

It's not bad idea to submit it to Google, if you're using the add url page so that it can send the spider. I've been doing

that for 5 years and never had a problem.

However, for the directory, it's administered by dmoz.. The Open Directory Project. It's edited by human editors, and if they

don't like your site, they'll toss it under the rug and forget about it. Then good luck getting it back in there. You NEVER

submit it there until it's perfect.

Usually submitting to search engines is the next step up after completing the site's design and optimization. It's relatively easy to submit to any of the SE's, but it takes a while for them to get to your site. What you can do to quicken the pace is to have links already pointing to your site. Some even believe that this is a faster way to get a site indexed without submitting it at all.

The difference with Dmoz is that because the site has volunteers, and have many submissions at any given time, is to make sure that when you submit your site, that you have filled in everything properly. Leaving things out means that the editor has to visit your site and draw his or her own conclusions when adding the site to a directory. This is where the biggest problems can come into play because they could give you the wrong category, web site description etc.

I think no. It is rather good for your site. But only submit home page to the search engine and not every inner page.

Google submission and DMOz submission are two complete;y different approaches. Though both the techniques are advised for good rankings, but repeated submissions should be strictly avoid.

DMOZ editors can never reject your site because they don't like... Rather, they reject your website because either its in wrong category or not fulfilling DMOZ guidelines.
