More often than not, there is a minimum word count that we have to follow and what I used to do is that I copy and paste my finished articles to an online word counter. I find it tedious to copy the entire article, open a new tab and click on word counter site, paste what I copied, and click on submit to see the results. I looked for a Google Labs feature that helped a lot for that purpose. I found one finally and I’m going to teach you today how to make it appear on the left side of your inbox.
1> Login to your Gmail account and navigate to Labs ( if you don’t have a direct key to Labs , move to button “more” you will find labs option)
2> Scroll down to the bottom of the page and enable “Add any gadget by URL” by Dan P and Dong C. Hit Save Changes. ( if not found go to “Gmail Labs” option)
3> Click Settings and you will now see a new Gadgets tab. Click on Gadgets.
4> Copy and paste the following URL on the box provided:
wordcountgadget.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/wordcountg.xml
5> Do the Add button and its done
