Fastest way to get googlebot on your website is by submitting your website at "who is" and "about us" services such as cubestat.com, there is free script which will submit your site to lot of these services, you can fin more about it here:

Also if you have some website with PR3+ you can put your link to your new website there, after gogoleboot find it you can remove the link.
Any link building will get google and other bots to your website.

Adsense will not help your website get indexed.

What is google bot? And, can you please explain that once google bot has found our link, why should we remove it? And, how will we get to know if the google bot has found our link or not?

Googlebot is google spider/robot/crawler who "search", crawl content on the internet.
Once spider is on targetred website, tehre is no need to have link to that website if they are not related somehow...
You can check server logs or your other visitor and spider statistics.
If your website/blog is in the google index, you can be sure that google bot has visited your website/blog

Okay, so these spiders give PR to our websites? Isn't this somewhat similar to traffic. I mean if we have lots of backlinks, isn't google bot supposed to visit us itself?

If you have an adsense account, activate and include this in your site.
