Thread: Google doesnt counting Directory Backlinks?

Google doesn't seem to be counting directory submissions as backlinks anymore? It could just be me. But, I even have PR5 paid inclusions that get utterly ignored.

this is not true

I don't know if they count them at all because I didn't get much success with directory submissions. Also most of these directories are general directory no niche related also some are no follow.

Yahoo counts them here... Google, their slow at these things, I wouldn't know yet!

I know that it counts(if done the right way), I used them countless times and always with great success.
If you are still non believer, ask seobunny and her experience with it, I think there is a thread here about it...

I also think that Google is counting this. Butyou have todo it right way,... do it white and not black!!! Google likes the white tech...

yes, it does. my yahoo dir link gives me a great google rank and PR3.

In directory submissions do follow like is consider. no-follow is not consider. So Google is counting the directory submissions.

So how does Google tell them apart?

Some big dir still works well for SEO

It also depends on the quality of the directory. If you submit to one that approves everything then chances are you will gain nothing in seo terms. If it is a niche directory on a topic related to your site that has strict approval then it will help. Simples!

If the directory is good or not you should still get a backlink, that is what I think he means, but you are also right.

I thought he meant Google weren't counting the link, not whether he was getting one.

I still have directories linking back to my blog as I have checked today... so I think its not true...
