In my view ranking in search engine is tough than getting traffic. By doing off page optimization you can get ranking in search engines. If get ranked then you can traffic automatically.

My personal experiences you should work on forum posting, directories submission and create a web blog 2.0 they are very good activity for increase a keyword ranking in search engine.

Yup You are Right, if you Ranked Top on Low level Keyword, the traffic should be so less. if it is High level it may be a Good One. and more over Getting Rank for Long Tail Keyword On SE
is Easy but it is too tough to Rank on Small Keywords.

Bro having Back link or getting Back link from, niche related website would be helpful. we all here to make back link from our signature, because our niche is SEO. IMTalk too on Same Niche.

so getting back link from reliable source is too valuable one.

i think getting high ranking in search engine is hard task now days.

Keyword ranking and maintaining ranking with traffic both are hard. If once high volume search will rank on first then traffic will follow to your sites but it is hard to rank high competitive keywords.
