    What is Google Authorship?

    Hello Everyone,

I have only heard about Google Authorship but not sure what it is. What is Google Authorship? Is it something that we need to know in order to make our site more impressive? Please suggest.

    Thank You

This is when you connect your G profile with your blog for example and then you can have little picture near your website title in SERPs, among other things.

Will my picture be shown in Google search results? How and where to insert the code for the picture?

I still don't use Google Authorship, but theoretically what you need is this :

    1. Insert your site on your Google+ profile, and authorized it (google gonna ask for it btw)
    2. insert some code or plugin on your site

Done. But how long it gonna take for you profile show in Google search result, it up for Google engine itself.

You can go to the Google Authorship page and it will walk you through the process https://plus.google.com/authorship

It helps to identify your sites with your Google+ account. Then you will see your G+ account show under the SERP results.
By An User for example. And have your G+ photo too.

It builds trust in Googles and users eyes. Or at least its meant to.

Now, Google does not show the small picture associated with the Google Plus, this is what will happen when you will try to copy things from others without doing your own research. Many people these days will claim to be the SEO expert but the fact is they do not know even a single thing about this.

Hi, I just share my thoughts here; Google authorship is to technique to link content you create with g+ profile. There are simply two options:
1 create a byline for each post on your websites
2 setup authorship by linking your content to your google+ profile

Google authorship feature introduced by Google let content writers/website and blog owners make their website/content more legitimate, authoritative on the web. At the early stages the SERPs also used to show the picture of the author of any content but now it has been reversed, does not shown anymore. But it is still very effective for SEO purposes. More functionality has been mentioned above.

Google Authorship is a way to link content you create with a Google+ profile.

Google will Show the author Picture (Google + Profile Picture) on Search Results. Like If you Post any article on your blog, and if you added that on your g+ profile and inserted Meta Author tag then, Google will ad your G+ DP on the Search Results Link of Your Page by Your Name .
