If you asked me, Google's most recent Penguin update is a total failure.
That is if we're going to judge it by how they presented it. According to Google, the purpose for this algorithm was to return better or higher quality search queries. For example let's Google "smoke shop Fort Lauderdale" this search returned three solid pages of directories, paid links and link farms. , I have no idea what Google means by quality of search but when I am looking for "a smoke shop in Fort Lauderdale", I want a website for a smoke shop in Fort Lauderdale not a link farm, a page full of ads or a paid for ranking directory.
I think that Google should add a tab on the top where that image, maps, and shopping options are called directories.
What I see as a result of the latest Google Penguin updates is small businesses pressure into buying adWords advertising campaigns because their websites have been pushed back so far down that their online presence is irrelevant.
Opinions any one...?
