Thread: Penguin 2.0 - Did you notice? Ranking on Top without any Backlinks?!?

Some Days after Penguin 2.0 Update - Day after Day I analyze some domains of many competitors. Hard Traffic Keywords ranking sites etc.

• Did you notice... that many of Top ranking Sites have no Backlinks or not a lot of backlinks?
• How comes?
• Any Idea what is going on there?

If you research some of these Keywords:

- buy ugg boots
- cheap replica handbags
- buy cheap gucci shoes
- gucci handbags
- replica handbags
- fake gucci shoes

... you will find out that most of these sites ranking on top without any backlinks or a big amount of backlinks. SEO's know that these Keywords are so spammy... and we know that Suppliers from China always spamming with Xrumer or Scrapebox.

If you doing manual linkbuilding.. you will always see anchortext backlinks like "buy cheap replicas.." etc.

For example this domain:

Ranking in Google Germany with keyword "replica handbag" on #1 and in Google-com ranking on #4.
This domain gets only 44 Backlinks and IP-Pop is 19. So in Google Eyes this domain only getting 19 unique backlinks.

Most of the Competitors have a lot more backlinks but doesnt ranking better than this domain...



CONFUSED?!?!?!

If you meant the refresher update happen on 18th July, well yes. There are couple of sites I keep tags on and one of these site jumped into 2nd page out of nowhere. It's a blog with no content and was actually banished in May 22 Penguin 2.0 update. Now it's back again. Have no idea how the hell that happened. Also now Online stores are dominating most of product search results. Sometimes all first 5- 10 by Amazon !

Yeah Google giving fresh blogpost a chance to rank well... also I see that in some hard Keywords fresh content is ranking on site 1.
First I asked myself.. why a blogspost (pulished on yesterday or 1-3 days ago) rank on site 1???

But here Im talking about a domain.. getting only 19 IP-Pop Backlinks... anyone any experience with other domains ranking on Top without any backlinks?!?!

It is not anything new, such situations already happened when they release some new updates...
I think this will be sorted out when they see some irregularity in their SERPs, so they will change algo accordingly.
But again who knows, we will see

Yes youre totally right with all your words.

I'm also sure that Google will tune it right.. time after time.
Its remember me the first penguin update... when a blogspot-blog with no content, words and any keywords was ranking on #1 under "make money online"...

No No I was talking about a Wordpress blog in .com domain. Just they installed the blog then make few posts BUT only title no post content !

Yeah I found out that many sites ranking without content. They only have keywords in title tag lol.

Also I found 1 blogspot.. using german title tag but having english content. this blog is ranking so good in germany lol.

Maybe English content is good and unique. loll I remember another member here mention something like this. In German search his English site rank better than German one for same keyword. Interesting since now its second time I heard. Should check this and see if it's same for other local search too.
