you put the category of the product you are selling in that space not the word hehe

Using the /category/ format for your site allows you to add an in URL keyword to the page address. This can reinforce the keywords used on the pages in the eyes of the search engines. Earlier I believe domain.com/product.html was preferred as Google used to give better weightage to it. It was said the more you categorize, the less it will get optimized. pages like domain.com/category/date/product was seen like immature.
But now categorization has become important. Hence domain.com/category/product.html is preferred. Still I don't think it is going to make any big difference if your strategies are good.

They both are good because they both gives same offers with small difference , so you want to select any one check your requirements compare it which perfect for you select it .

It will depend on the size of the website to properly determine which is better for optimization.

category, in googles eyes it increases page "depth" and isn't a one off slim 5page site.

domain/category/product.html is the best URL structure .. this type of ur structure explain it self. anybody who see this type of url can imagine about the contents of the pages. this is good for humans and search engines to understand this url structure.
