I'm sure everyone has read up on all the info reagrding the Stupid Penguin update. There is a lot of information about how to "fix it" and tons of WSOs taking advantage of the situation. I bought a few and returned them as they were all re-hashed information (typical)...
At any rate, I generally agree with the two articles below and they coincide with what I've seen and analyzed about my sites that were and were not hit...

I would mainly stress press releases, directories, and videos as well as +1 and other social media signals. Another thing would be to make sure you have some sort of google authorship badge/microdata on your site linking it to your site's g+ "personality". I wouldn't spam the hreview microdata too hard right now like stars and reviews, unless it's legit.
In the end, there will be another update and more after that, so... who knows! But, obviously, just building sites with good content for the user (as G would say) isn't enough... Ultimately, webmasters are going to have to diversify their traffic generation methods. This means more work, but relying on organic seo is no longer prudent.
