I have one question...

when I make back links to websites, should I use a VPN service to hide my IP ? if yes, why ?

Probably to remove foot prints I guess. Can't think of any other reason.

I suspect that this would depend on the type of backlinks to some extent. I don't think that there would be a benefit for good manual blog commenting or forum posting. Social bookmarking of your own posts and creating Web 2.0 properties linking back to your money site, or in a link wheel/pyramid would be another matter. In those cases you would not want to leave the footprint.

Yes its probably a good idea or your ip will be blocked.

In case you are posing a few and genuine/valuable comments then there is no reason to hide IP but on the other side and for bulk commenting this can be a good idea.

Why not? I think it would be great if the OP has all the facts before making a decision.

It is useful as it'll appear natural to Google.

I would think to some extent using the VPN would be more unnatural to google (unless you are blasting/spamming). Having said that you sould hope that the algorithm is based on logic and the evidence. You should be innocent untill proven guilty so if there is no evidence???

I would recommend to use some tools in order to hyde your IP address, specially if you use submission tools for the backlink creation for example:

1. Using different proxys
2. Reseting your router

SFS is only dangerous if you are a forum spammer. Your IP and email will be recorded in the database. You will not be able to register with forums that use the API or manually approve applications and check the database. Most open proxies and proxie server IP addresses show up in the database very soon. Doing the trick of using dots in the email addresses on Gmail accounts does not fool SFS either, as they strip the dots just like gmail does.

I agree with wink0r said above. Especially if you want to make linkwheels from web 2.0 and social bookmarking. It is highly recommended for using different IPs.

The two things I couldn't live without are captcha busters ("visual aid") and a good proxy package for not-so-whitehat activites...

Thanks Seotic. It seem very good tools. I give a try to this browser then let's how useful it is. But the other tool is definitely good.

you dont need to use this IP if your promoting your websites the right way.

For White HAT SEO, no need to hide your IP.

For Gray Hat, sometimes you need and sometimes you don't. Depends what link submission you are trying to do.

For Black Hat.............No Question, yes you need for 100% link submission
