Thank you very much for sharing this. Now, to be honest, I myself prefer to use paid software to analyse seo factors.
But if I have to choose a number #1 "free" resource, then I would choose backlinkwatch.com

seems to be a pretty comprehensive list. i like the tools over at seomoz (although they are not free) and also Majestic. I had not come across Ahrefs before so I am checking it out now.

Ahrefs seems good but not sure they're database is updated frequently or not

If we talk about free tools I think seoserp and seo quake worth mentioning.
Uhmm.. and IMT Website Submitter. Pretty good for indexing. I've read about that somewhere.. Dun remember where :P
