    Several SEO and SEM Questions

After doing on-page SEO for years, I've started into the realm of Off-Page SEO over the last 6 months and have learnt so much, but still have several burning questions that I am hoping someone here can help answer.

    Web2.0 sites:
    1. Am I correct in saying that Building backlinks to these properties to increase PageRank which will pass down to the main website and is safer than sending backlinks to your main website?

    2. If I am aiming at long tail keywords that contain a short tail keyword will some of the juice pass down to the short tail keywords? Eg. Web Design Services Australia - Web Design Services - Web Design

    3. I understand that contextual links are safe for websites (eg. articles), so would I be right in saying that sending backlinks to these DO-FOLLOW articles to increase their PageRank so more link juice passes down to the main website?

    4. And in relation to the last question, Is it better to target articles on Higher Page Rank Domains so their root Domain passes on some link juice too?

I have looked for these answers, but couldn't find the answers that I need. Thanks for any help.

    Regards

    Jon

I don't know if I qualify as an expert, but here is my experience:

    1. Yes for sure, you can build a ton of backlinks in a short time to your Anchor Layer / Web 2.0's and the link juice will pass to your site (although diluted).

    2. You'll need to have all those as anchor texts to your main URL in order for it to work

    3. Contextual links are not only safe, but some of the best quality links (especially if your article is unique and original and on high PR domains), but yes it can pass PR to main website with dofollows

    4. For sure, target as many high PR domains as possible, but to be more natural you should throw in some not so high PR and also some nofollows as to not raise suspicion on your own site.

Thanks for the answers so far. If anyone else has anything to add, please do.

In regards to 2. , I've just noticed that some of the shorter tail keywords were getting a little bit of movement without any work being done on them. All good though.

Another question has come to mind though.

    5. I know you don't get as much love from multiple links from the same domain, but does this apply to contextual links from article directories? Having different articles on the same article domain but with different content?

My mind overflows with SEO information all the time, and these few questions have been burning to find an answer, so thankyou.

Here with your all the above questions the most common thing is "Link Juice". Yes definitely the answers of the questions are hidden in your own questions. But need some improvement. I agree with my friend burgers but I want to tell you more on the question number 2. If you prefer to have long tail keyword and that keyword cover up the other keyword not necessary to pass some of the juice to the short tail keyword because this depends on the competition of a particular keyword. If you think contrary like you have short tail keyword like web design then chances are more to come up on web design services, web design company because you scored on the main (root) keyword.

What makes you think that it is less safe to send backlinks direct to your main site than the Web 2 page ?

Use lots of meta keyword tags. Use it WITH Commas. Make sure you don't repeat the same word more than 3 times in a row. Google only indexes the first 101K of the document - so don't use TOO many.

Make sure you include at least one link to Google. They need quality traffic as well. Don't be greedy and hog it all to yourself. This can do wonders for your pages. Remember - Google may be going public soon - so the more traffic you send them the better.

Google may be going public soon
Google went public several years ago. Their IPO at $80/share turned out to be quite a buy. Many made 500% profit on that one.

The problem with going public is that the CFO then becomes a major influence in company policy making.
