    pagerank and number of keyword

    Dear forum members,
I have a website which has pagerank 2. I have added 22 keywords for the website which is too many i guess.
Can anyone suggest me that how can I rise my page rank and also whats the number of keyword should be for an website to get ranked high.

Do you mean that you have added 22 words in a meta keywords tag? That is more than you probably should have, but if you have content to support all of them it would probably do no harm. Google does not add weight for the meta keywords tag but might not like it if it was keyword stuffing not supported by content. Do you have a page or post optimized for each of the keywords? How many pages (or posts if a blog) do you have?

Story time: I once ran across a page that was an example of old school keyword stuffing. I looked up the page info in SEOQuake. I have a fairly large monitor with a 1050px vertical resolution and I had to scroll to get past the meta keword tag contents!! That is keyword stuffing on the first order and the reason that Google stopped paying attention to the keyword meta tag.

On site factors that may influence page rank might include spelling and grammar, bounce rate, time on site, and navigation. Off site might include number and particularly quality of backlinks.

One way I know you can check is by using google analytics in the webmaster tools. They have a "lab" where they take a look at your site and tell you if your meta details are too long or too short, crawl errors etc. It's one of the easiest way to see where you need to improve your site.

Once you're ranked for a few keywords it's a lot easier to rank for the more general or main keyowrds in your market. It will take some time though before you gain authority, but it will come.
Make sure your site is theme written, meaning you have several pages about relevant things in your market. Not only about your specific niche, but also about the main niche and other subniches.

Worked for me, works for many.
Authority is key to rank for many keywords.

I do not speak or read German so my impressions are with the aid of Google Translate.

I do think that you could trim the more general terms from the keyword tag, but I doubt that it would make a real difference. I think that you could come up with a better title, repeating the site name in the title does little good. The description could possibly be improved by giving stronger reason to visit the site, but that may just be a weakness of using a translator. Translators can give you the words but they give no insight into the thought pattern of a native speaker of the language.

Looking at the site in SEOQuake gives some interesting insights. Google does show nearly 700 pages indexed, but that number may be low for a CMS based site. The major thing that it shows is that Google recognizes no backlinks. If the age of the site listed is accurate (not always so) I would expect to see a PR4 or 5 just from longevity.

I like the look and idea of the site. I would think that it would draw a lot of interest these days as long as you deliver on your promise.

I will have to leave it to a native German speaker to comment on the quality of the content. You do need some backlinks that stick.

Keyword should not exceed minimum 80 character. I prefer social networking sites, it will improve your visits.
