Thread: A part of Black hat SEO: Cloaking

This is probably one of the most common, and most likely to get your company banned, practices out there. Mainly a company can designate which parts of a website that Google looks at. Google then lists the website under the titles and keywords that is found in that content. The issue comes when a company shows Google content, and then makes it so viewers see different content such as ads or links to malware infected sites. This is what is known as cloaking and will get a website removed from Google in very short order.

This is a part of an article on a blog I read about black hat practices but I didn't understand what it meant. How can you make a website look different to every visitor that comes to your site and also ward off the crawler without getting noticed?

I know of scrips that will show random content from a list of text files for example.
You can keep crawlers from crawling certain parts of your site by using a robots.txt file.
Through your CPanel you can chose index manager and select exactly what you don't want SE's to see.

It meant that their website don't have the content that visitors want to view. Instead, they put some other websites or ads there. I guess.

You can do this by installing plug-in called TMOC. It’s to cheat search engine to think that your website contain unique content while in fact all of your content and what reader see is copy paste content. Of course this is black hat method. I just know if people called it as cloaking.

Cloaking is way to hide the keywords density so that your keyword ranking can be increase without knowing to your client.
