Hey,
What SEO steps one should do to attract visitors or members to their forums?
What Nemanja had done for this forum to get lots of members from last on year? Have you only take the help of Paid posters or done some SEO? Are their natural members who comes directly from search engine traffic?
Look under the yellow IMT Tools link in the nav bar. The Website Submitter is offered to all visitors. The Directory Submitter and the RSS Submitter are free tools for members. The Super Charged Bookmarking tool is the most effective and the only one for which there is a nominal fee. The free Website Submitter has been widely publicized as a traffic builder.

Just do basic On-Page SEO optimization and you are fine.
IMT has been gaining in leaps and bounds and that is not only because of its tools. There is a lot of information here that helps people when they search for answers or services. I'm not entirely sure if paying someone to post on a forum is a good idea either. It shows that they aren't loyal to you and your forum, but are only there to take money home every now and again.
What I think makes IMT popular is that people here care and help each other. This is not something you can gain by paying people to post. It's a natural combination of people that are willing to help with people that are needing help and tools to help everyone get something done a little faster and easier, giving you great results in the end.
Nemanja has told people about IMT, he told me about it in January this year, which is when I joined IMT. I have actually not gone back to the other forum since then because I am comfortable here and enjoy being part of the community.
IMHO it's not all about the money. It's about building something that people would be proud of and loyal to. To the point where they would help in any way they can to see that the site / forum flourishes.

The thing is at the starting of forum there should be original content it should grow day by day, visitors would automatically search through search engines and other way as well.
When visitors visit forum and they see that this is a quality forum they would join they would clear their doubt and as a result forum would also grow.
This is such a great place I have watched it grow. There is tones of info. There is tones of great stuff for free on top of that nemanja has made some of the best Internet marketing tools on the Internet and offered them for. There also lot of great people on the forum and can't wait to see the place grow bigger and bigger.
