Best ways to learn SEO

Hello Jaffa and Humans of IMT forum. Here I'm going to share with you some important resources about SEO. It is SEO resources for beginners. Let me tell you something.

SEO experts are not welcome here, so they should not come to this thread. This is only for Beginners (but can come to answer question )

First, you may read any of
- Matt Carter's SEO lessons
- Seomoz beginners guide
- Gogole SEO book

Other than that watch the Ali baba's seo youtube video series. It explains you how to do keyword research and how to choose your domain name and many more.

Here are some old good forums where you can ask more questions and read more about SEO
warrior forum, digitalpoint >> IMT also okay, but still here less resources available because IMT is still relatively a new forum.

At last you SEO BEGINNERS are welcome to ask your questions here in this thread too. hope this may help you to start your SEO career !!!!

After reading all these .. implement on it!! Don't just read it!
Coz beginners often, think that they learned a lot by just reading and understanding the concepts!!
But practically.. its far more deeper and interesting, which you'll understand, only if you implement on it!!

Get your own domain and practice your seo knowledge over it, it will give you more authority to monitor what is going on. Working on Blogspot blogs or wordpress blogs may not give you so much in depth experiences. This is my point of view.

can u explain this more briefly ? why wordpress hosted blog is not suitable for practice ?

You are right Rain22... Well i started my lesson with SEOMOZ articles and followed the best writers!! and I believe a big part of my learning was seo forums.. Like IMT forum, I have signedup in many forums which i used to check in small intervals for updates and new trends of the market..

i'm also new in SEO. First thing i know about SEO when i sign up at DP, then IMT, i learn a lot from what people said and talk at forum, maybe its time for me to read at reliable resources such SEOMOZ

Then I like to experiment with my theories and niches via HubPages and Squidoo.

I wrote a Hub on how to use HubPages for testing a niche. Now that HubPages has taken a dive due to Panda, I would use Squidoo instead. But the info is the same either way.
