    No follow, do follow links??

Is no-follow link, good for SEO?

Link building plays an important role in SEO. The healthy links are created by directory submissions, article submissions, video submission, blog submission, forum activities and much more. The links obtained by these activities may be with do-follow or no-follow attribute which is based on the site linking to you.
Links with do-follow and no-follow attribute make more difference in SEO strategy. Many site owners think that no-follow links are bad for SEO and it affects the SERP result. But practically it was not the case! As per the Google scenario it’s the do-follow links which create some negative effect when it was from the unrelated sites.

Are you confused with the do-follow and no-follow attributes?

The links with the do-follow attributes are crawled by the Google or other search engine bots. So do-follow links must be from the relevant and high PR sites, as it was crawled by the search engine bots. Do-follow link plays an important role in increasing SERP results, if it links from high PR sites.
At the same time, links with no-follow attributes are not crawled by the search engine bots. Many websites provide no-follow links. Though it won’t influence SERP result, these links may bring huge traffic to your websites which indirectly helps in improvement of SERP results. Amount of traffic depends on the popularity of the site linking to you.

Hence no-follow links does not harm the ranking of the website; instead they help to increase traffic to your website.

    Please share your thoughts guys.

It's important for Google and the other SE bots to see a natural link building structure to any site. Meaning, they need to see a healthy mix of no-follow and do-follow links. If there are only do-follow links present, the site may be penalized because the backlinking profile looks shady.

That is correct, I would add that it is maybe better to have more no follow links to be on the safe side if you are doing all the backlinks.

Hmm, I would add to this, Nofollow links probably helps in ranking if you obtain it from a high DA website, Note that google doesn't care about Page Rank Again.

If you obtain a nofollow link from Wikipedia I'm sure it surpasses a dofollow from a DA of 12, I've tried series of nofollow links and it worked.

I don't think, it matters anymore that whether the link is dofollow or nofollow. One nofollow link from high authority site is much more valuable than 10 dofollow links from low quality social bookmarking sites. While earning backlinks, as long as website is relevant and has high DA, go for it. Do not pay more attention to whether it is dofollow or nofollow.

Dofollow Link is a hyperlink that is able to tell all search engines to pass along it’s page rank influence to an outbound link. If you will use or get do follow links then search engines will count your link in the eyes of Google, yahoo, Bing etc as backlink for your site and you can get some positive value for your site ranking.

Nofollow is html tag that website owners, add to links in their website for the search engines not to crawl, notice, or acknowledge a link.

I would recommend both. Google wants to see a great mix of dofollow and nofollow. So focus on both, but focus on them from authority sites. Both can do you a lot of good!

BTW, if you are looking for dofollow links, then you should look at guest blogging. Most sites who offer guest post opportunities understand that guest bloggers are looking for a link, but they are also looking to fill their posting schedule, so they usually don't mind giving a link. Plus, Google likes content-based linking!

    Hope this helps!
    Cheers!
    Joshua

No follow from a site with high DA like Wikipedia is better than do follow from a low DA site. You should try and get 60% no follow and 40% do follow.

Nofollow doesn't mean spider will never try to look at it. It will scan, and crawl, but it will not transfer the pagerank as much as it is the case with dofollow. The concept of nofollow and dofollow fits with only pagerank strongly. It gives less importancet to nofollow as compared to dofollow, but it doesn't mean it doesn't crawl.

Nofollow means it tells the google bots don't follow those links so it only give the traffic,
Dofollow means it tells the google bot follow the links, it gives the link juice to the website and boost keywords in SERP
