What is the use of Cloaking in SEO? Does it has bad impact on website for whom Cloaking is being done?

Cloaking si the process whereby you disguise a website link with another one in a way to trick Google search engine into ranking it high. probably the website link has been banned or downgraded by google for violation of standing rules that guide google usage.
it surely has a bad impact on website as it is seen as a blackhat SEO method.

clocking is part of black hat techniques, you should avoid the clocking method form your techniques.

Cloaking of a page and cloaking a URL are two entirely different things. If you use a URL shortener the original URL is cloaked by the shortened URL. Affiliate marketers often cloak their affiliate links to protect the tracking data contained in the link.

Cloaking is used by black hat and it is one of the unethical practices in SEO. It uses the devices that provide deceiving mechanism for the search engines.

In my opinion, you really shouldn't use cloaking. Google will probably find you out anyways. Stick with ethical SEO!
