I dont ping anything anymore. Google will find them eventually, and more natural not to.

It doesn't hurt to ping them, but if you are doing links in un natural way like 100+ links in a day,
then for sure I dont' recommend to ping themFree Tool:

i never ping after comment or create backlink, google will crawl it self

Why would you need to ping your backlinks? If your building quality linsk the site your comment/trackback is on should already be indexed. Google will find it within a week.

I think if for 2nd tier or 3rd tier links.. i don't think it will hurt your site if ping hundred of them all at once.. the first tier (like web 2.0) it self.. already got attention from crawlers

I never ping my links. I use social networks if I want faster indexation.
