    Question Need some seo advice

1.) Does the weebly domain extension matter either positive or negative when building a site through weebly. (for those that may not understand the question weebly is free but includes their domain at the end such as: example (dot) weebly (dot) com
2.) I have a competitor (and I have proved it is him) that posted terrible lies about me under my company name. He did this through blogspot and ripoffreport and pissed consumer. (I know nightmare situation) this has already cost me thousands of dollars in lost work and they are not even half truth's they are are simply outright lies. Of course clients don't know this! He has already successfully shut down one other business I know of by using these tactics. Any SEO tips to out rank these sites? Ripoff report ranks HIGH!

    1) I do not think that geeting a weebly or in other case.. xyz.yola or something else will make much issue if properly worked on the website. Though domain name is still better & has its own advantage.
I had a site some 4 years back that was on weebly subdomain and after continous work I had made it on the 1st page of Google. It was there for quite of months, that when I decided to for name.

Anyway Now days getting a domain name at low prices is not an issue. There are lot of Promotion going on these days to get then as low a below 1$.

    2) Only thing is concenterate on your website with Proper SEO, may also start a feedback back page on your website... in long run good seo with proper flow of plan always work (that i beleive)

    thank you

Thank you for your honest quick answer. It's not the money I was trying to save it was more a thought of the name weebly attached to my domain I thought may have benefits such as backlinks and recognition.

Since you run your own business I think the best way is have your own domain with a site. Something like BrandName.com This way with little bit of proper SEO you will able to rank top in Google for your Brand band. Having a professional looking site matters a lot when it comes to credibility than having a sub-domain in a site. You should be doing this right away. Then you can reply in both ripoffreport and pissed consumer raveling how your competitor doing negative SEO by posthing these links. Also I think you can do a complaint at Blogger about it and get it removed. Long shot but worth trying.

If you are developing your own business never keep your site in a free host or use a sub-domain belongs to someone else. Having your own domains helps your business online presence in so many way. If someone want to see if you owns the business or check credentials then he/she can do a Whios search and see to who this domain name belongs to. Age of domain will give the person how long your business has been there and having a physical address and contact details with phone and email will increase the trust factor. It's better have a email like [email protected] for public whois contact details. If you haven't done these better start getting these done ASAP.

I think a good domain name is very important for SEO. Google does not value free domains to an extent. A good domain is a sign that you are serious and sincere about your website's business.

Blogger said and I quote"our new policy only makes us a medium for posting on the internet the post you inquired about does noy break any rules" That is kind of scary seeing that this post linked my company to a friend of mine that has NEVER worked for me but pissed this guy off" I just dont have the money for court to be brutally honest. My wife is bedridden at 42years old with all the symptoms of pancreatic cancer but no cancer its a nerve issue, Only drinks ensure ... no food .. for 2 years. Not trying to give a poor me story it's just I did nothing wrong to get these bad reports and they only show on GOOGLE. I have contacted each site with proof of Trade mark registration and all say the same thing google did. But I am taking the high road, not badmouthing this guy. Just working on burying this trash. I have 22 years in my company.
Thank you for your suggestions, I will check out Brandname.com. I have paid out $87,000.00 in hospital bills and thats with blue cross insurance. Sickness is mentally and financially draining and Im sure not blaming my wife, it's no ones fault.... just a bad situation made worse by lies.

Sorry to hear about the situation. It would be better to have a domain rather than a sub domain. If you need any other help do contact me

Advice taken. A sincere Thank You!

Each of you made great points about the advice I needed. I listened and applied it. I went ahead and just forwarded the url of my domain to my weebly domain since I was already ranking on the the 1st page of Google for my my main key word for Dallas,Tx. and The first page of google (#1 slot) for my main keyword for the suburb cities of Dallas.
I don't credit myself with this. I credit each and every one that took the time to explain things and help me along the way!
