Thread: Need Help with this link problem!

Recently checked my Google Analytics account and to my surprise I went from 1500 links to over 6700 overnight? I have 5200 links coming from 1 site and it doesn't exist anymore. This hasn't hurt my rankings yet, but I don't think such an increase will be overlooked by the Search Engines! I have worked very hard adding quality links to my site and don't want something like this to cause a penalty. I can't figure out why this occurred and what to do about it since the site no longer exist. I would greatly appreciate your suggestions! I would like to know how I can delete them? I check everyday with a special tool my incoming links.(backlinks)

I had 1 time this problem too.. i get more than 1000 links to my site from only 1 site.
And yes my ranking was going down... but not for a while... dont worry. your site dont coming into a sandbox.

I think google knows who do black hat seo and who doesnt do it.

I was after 3 Weeks back on top ranking...

I get backlinks to this forum from all over the place every day, where I would be if I'm going to check every backlink to this website and to my other websites I will be only doing that?
Don't worry about backlins created by others and keep creating content and quality backlinks to your website.

Thanks for the advice, I personally have spent a lot of time on my website implementing my own SEO & my site is #2 on Google, #1 on Yahoo & #2 or 3 on Bing for my targetted keyword phrase. I guess I'm just worried about a penality! We will see what happens since I don't know how to get rid of all these links. I will take your advice Nemanja and just keep on creating my own quality backlinks.

I think, you need not to worry If this is a one way linking. Means only that site have link for your site.
