Border White Hat / Black Hat

Where is the border between White hat and Black hat. Using wisely a tool doesnt mean i am using Black Hat way for Ranking. On several Site you can read that people allways say Black hat, as soon they see a tool. But in my eyes it is not. Tell me where is your border.....

I was about to make a topic about this.

I really don't know if there is anything like Black hat and white hat. As to Google guide lines you are not suppose to get paid links or try to manipulate search result in anyway. But Ironically search engine optimization is basically all about manipulating the search result so you get on top.

If White hat works then Content should be the 100% king and it's not. You can see still back-linking works after all these various Google animal updates. probably the best white hat method for commercial or affiliate sites is paid traffic.

I don't believe that only white hat would yield the desired results. You have to mix in the two to make a speedy yet acceptable progress. As bluearrow said, the various animal updates is the real cause why we have to make use of black hat as well as white. I think there is no border as long as you don't make a habit to use a single tool to the verge of exposing yourself to the search engine king.

i think, the name "black hat" is to control us SEO people. For people Black hat is all that what is with tools to do, so even Nemanja tools in they eyes. But for me it is not. Black hat, means cheating in they eyes. But what is realy cheating? development a tool which creates backlinks which was handpicked before and this make the work now only in some minutes as before some hours....?! AS example a car mechanic was using years before manualy tools to open tires, it was a very hard work to change tires, no mostly in the world use the machines, make it faster and much efficient. The car mechanic who use tools before in his town and now using this machine can handle more clients as competitors with manualy tools. Is he now a cheater because he use this tool? Nobody will claim him as a cheater.

So with SEO it is for me similar, not same but similar. We use tolls and get good results with less manual work. The only issue is if we overdue with tools than it will punish the sites. That what is why people are afraid of it.

For me, a SEO who is using tools wisely, he is still working white hat

Using a tool to create backlinks is not bad. But using a tool that can create thousands of backlinks in a single go can be bad. It would mean that you are actually spamming Google's servers and that would certainly fall in the black hat. After all, the main purpose of google is to benefit the user and bring up the actually helpful sites rather than just the ones who are hungry for traffic and clicks on their ads.

There is no border. If your marketing efforts is to please Google crawlers and neglecting users in any way then it can be said as black hat. While all your efforts is to provide good user experience is white hat. Although I believe all marketing is a mix of white hat and black hat and thats how it is supposed to be.

If you take a look at Google guidelines you will find everything we do can be consider as Blackhat or trying to manipulate search result. What I consider blackHat is things like doing Negative seo on competitors sites and things like that.

May be Black hat seo helps for short period of time. But as per my opinion, White hat seo techniques is best to promote your website. There are many off page activities such as Directory sub, Social Bookmarking, Forum Posting, Blog Commenting etc.. which helps to improve your website ranking and get quality links.

Remember, you will only find High PR Do Follow sites and submit it.

most sites on number one of google one way or the other make use of tool. using a tool for backlink does not mean it is black hat. it is when you abuse the tool then it becomes a black hat, just like creating 10,000 backlink in a day and all showing up in google this will surly raise a red flag in the eyes of google,

for proper usage you can start out small by sending say 50 links per day while varying anchor test using diverse means of backlinking then the next week increase it to 100 then the upper week you can step it further
