I found this on another forum, where there were two links to the story, but I am only going to post the one with the most information. this could be linked to social networks but I posted here as it is mainly a legal issue.
For all of us who have linkedin accounts, linkedin was recently hauled to court because hackers got hold of over 6 million user PII (emails, logins and passwords) and these have been put out on the web for everyone to see. Not long after, members have been attacked with phishing scams out of Russia.
Source: Courthouse newsHackers infiltrated LinkedIn's website and posted more than 6 million LinkedIn users' passwords online, customers claim in a federal class action.
Lead plaintiff Katie Szpyrka claims the social network failed to encrypt 120 million users' "personally identifiable information," including email addresses, passwords and login credentials.
What do you guys think about all this. Read through the article though, there is a lot more information on the subject than I have posted here.
