I want to know about your experience in the Amazon associate program. What are the best products that sell there? How to get good profit through the Amazon affiliate marketing program?

I am using Amazon from 2009 on Hubpages and till now not even I have earned 1$..lol... i dont have website but hubpages are great way for traffic but it dont fits for amazon..
I was using Amason affiliate program for about 9 months and sold one LCV TV with commision od $45. You need lage amount of visitors who owns credit card and want to buy things. If you do not have big site with tons buying habits visitors avoid this affiliate program.
Hi guys,
I just joined this forum and need to say something about Amazon Associate. This year I earned +$600 on Amazon Associate. Yes this is true! You need to find products that worth at least $100 and promote it through your website (If you have WordPress website, there are several plugins for automatic post of Amazon Product with your associate ID). To find product for promotion, go to Google Trends, Amazon Bestsellers, Google Adword Keyword tool (to find long tail keywords) and so on.... Best Regards, Q
I have had great success. In addition, I've built a few Amazon storefronts using Fresh Store Builder. I highly recommend it.
AmzAssoc has been very good to me. My Ad(NON)Sense and Comm-Junction earnings are utterly dwarfed by what Amz does. I sent nearly a MILLION in gross sales to Amz last year, and on my way to 6-figgur incum.
I'd love to tell you how I did it, but I'd have to write some stoopid Click-Bank eBook called: 'The Am-A-Zing Amaz-On-Ing Traffic Tidal-Wave Steam-Roller Tsunami Earnings-Blaster Sales Explosion Tornado Booster Way To Make Millions'. And then you'd have to buy it and read it and then like 99% of the folk out there trying to GET-RICH-QUICK over the internet, fail to do what you need to do to make that happen.
Sigh Bestija beat me to it.
Research some niches where the products in the best seller categories sell for over 100$. It's also worth noting you should test several affiliate programs once you've found items that sell, but remember that Amazon.com conversion rates can be significantly higher for certain niches then other programs. It's always worth testing, but never automatically assume that the conversion rate on a specific product on amazon will have any impact on the conversion rate on another site. From experience the conversions are all over the place when comparing an affiliate to amazon, it really depends on the product, one poor review on an affiliate site can burn the conversions even after they're read a positive review and have followed an add to cart link.
Excellent advice on going after Best-Sellers and higher-ticket items. (Something I've often failed to do). In so many ways Amz tells you exactly what products people want and what moves - so why rethink the wheel or go after products that don't? I'm heavy into Technology items, (a max 4% tier) but the nature of that beast is a $100 item when released will be available for $39.95 within a year - the tech market price squeeze downward is that severe.
Amazon Associate program is my favorite Affiliate program. I like it even more than Google AdSense which delete accounts for even for tiny mistake from publishers sides.
I'm into Electronic items, sepcially about cameras so commission rate is only 4% but still its great !
I hear ya - I'm not even trying to sell cameras at all - but some days I'll see something like a $1000+ Canon EOS cam and a $400 telephoto lens show up in my orders report anyways! Ka-Ching!! It's all the other stuff people add to their cart with your cookie set that's like frosting on the cake!
I heard an Amazon expert advise to promote some less expensive high volume items as well as the big ticket items in order to get your order count up. There are levels that go by number of orders, so even though you only make pennies on some small sales they can help you reach a higher commission plateau.

Disadvantages with Amazon: low commissions, 24 hour cookie.
Advantages: relatively easier to convert buyers since its a well known brand. Also Amazon is good at up-selling so customers might start off with a $5 product and end up spending a lot more.
A tip for anyone who want to try their luck with Amazon. Do not Apply for Amazon afffiliate program with TM domains. 99% times they reject the application.
eg - Windowsxpos.info / Canon-camera.com / SonyTV.com
better use an generic name like - cameras.info / bestTVs.com / computersoftware.net etc
I have no sales yet,but I have sales at clickbank
Hi,
A couple of years ago I had a relative good success with amazom.com, amazon.de and amazon.co.uk.... but at the time Amazon allowed direct linking... so it was easy... just a few targeted adwords groups and I could earn around $1,000 per month.
But had no luck for the past year...
My sales rate at amazon is about 1.25% these days from about 200 clickthroughs a day not great but its money. jzorro is correct before the direct linking change amazon was an affiliates best friend. Now mucho traffic is needed to convert.
PS i get a tv sale a month .....
I've had no luck at all with Amazon.
My reports show between 2-10% clickthru rate on various links and widgets - AND NOT ONE SALE!
I'm suspecting something funny going going on here as I would have thought that at least one of those clickthrus would have bought something.
