If you have a website, I am sure that you have been contacted numerous times from companies who specialize in search engine optimization. These companies offer their services to optimize your website for the search engines.

Most likely your website is not optimized. Most website designers do not understand the fundamental rules for optimizing a website for the search engines.

There are two factors:

On Page Optimization
For example: title tags, meta tags, relevancy

Off Page Optimization
For example: backlinks, credibility, relevancy

Both of these are needed for search engine rankings. Make sure you go to an Internet Marketing consultant who can do both. On-page SEO is one of the fundamentals that is required but the search engines are putting more emphasis on your off-page SEO.

The most important thing about getting ranked in search engines is: PLACE HIGH IN THE SERPs on GOOGLE!!!!
