How to start an online business?

Im thinking on investing $300-$400 to run an online business that will gaurantee making money... I know imma have to get a domain, hosting, and a website but dont know what kind of online business am i gonna do... Any suggestions?

what I found very necessary while my first steps, was to understand first, that the real money comes from sales. You can offer services, products, affiliate offers anything you like, but nail it to your brain: no sale -> no money.
Second is, learn how to generate traffic. Driving customers to your site is the most mandatory thing, every marketer has to master: no customers -> no sale -> no money…

Then I would recommend your find a good niche(means a good base of customers to which you can sell a variety of products, while having less competition), find a product to sell, set up a site and start it.

2. Develop logos and design work
3. Build an e-commerce website
4. Find sales partner
5. Do SEO of an eCommerce site
6. Use Google Adsense to get bonus income
7. Constantly promote your business

What works for me is to create a site to sell services. Than promote this site mainly by SEO. Build good backlinks. Than outsource the services. Therefore I do not need to work so much but earn decent money month by month.

Start with figuring out what your "online business" should look like, before you start wasting all your time on SEO and whatnot.
What will you sell ? Will your product need to offer support for your customers ? How big is your competition and how will you stand out from the rest ? Do you have the proper marketing knowledge to create the campaigns that fit your product and will catch your prospects full attention ? How much time and effort are you willing to put in ?

Internet marketing is NOT an online business. The marketing part is a HUGE chapter inside your online business...
SEO is just a TINY part of it and doesn't have much to do with the actual marketing at all...

Don't underestimate it and please....don't buy some "Push a few buttons and BOOM your Wealthy" nonsense product.

Think of an online business which you are interested. You need to invest time and money if you want to have a successful business.

Find the offer/product you want to sell. Figure out monteization/traffic method; organic seo, ppc, display, aff, ecom, etc... Build site and content. Put traffic plan into motion (ppc - built campaigns in adwords or display network sites; seo - backlink). Collect checks. :)
