it seem like ACTA is more cruel than SOPA.. if really implemented.. you just need to throw all your laptops, all your PC, all your smartphones into dustbin, this is because, internet is not really internet anymore... please watch the video to get more clear explanation

39 countrys sign ACTA without Your knowledge.pushing it behind you silently this act as a law of fishing... This looks like a false democracy, the most important laws are chosen without your voice.

but You still can show Your opposition. find local adress to Your politicians and send them letter or even email with desaprobate this!

Probable this is last thing that You can do before we all have to take to the streets as a state of war.

There's no proof that they will do that. Besides, that is also against the law and would have a worse effect. Why not just watch, wait and see. Get all the necessary information and then make a decision. The net needs something that can stop illegal activities on the net, that much is a given. It's how it will be governed that is the biggest problem so far. With all the countries that have already signed, The only big news we've heard about was megaupload. Anything else that had to do with either SOPA or ACTA would have been mentioned already, but so far all i have been hearing about are protests. I agree IP privacy invasion is a big thing, but then again, if you have nothing to hide, why make it into a huge problem. They still need to prove that you have done something illegal in any respect.

I remain impartial until I have proof that someone innocent has been effected by this directly, and not by means of a site like megaupload being taken down for obvious transgressions.

totally agreed with your statements phoenyx, megaupload cases is too obvious and can't be denied, but if a kid/teenager is caught and sentenced to jail just because uploading copyright material on the net, so it is something we should fully take concern

Again, that is out of context. I have not heard anything related to that, nor have I seen a rule that teenagers are prosecuted this way. It is against the law to add/sell/or distribute copyrighted material and this should be handled by each country according to their own laws. That is not ACTA, that is law imposed by countries themselves and has been there since time immemorial.

Sorry,if i make a wrong statement, i just give basic example according to the video i attached which i think ACTA also not like copyright material being spread over the net without permission.. sorry again, my mistake.

No worries. I did not mean anything bad by it, but its just that there is already such a lot of hype and fear about the new act, and so many people spreading general pandemonium because of it, that people are losing focus about why the act is in place in the first place. They cannot be a law unto themselves, they can only point out individuals that are actually selling/distributing illegal products/content and then hand them over to the authorities in their respective countries. Then it is up too them to decide.

People need to relax and look at the bigger picture and look at all the facts before going off the deep end and scaring people that don't always understand everything related to the net.

yes i agreed.. to much lots of hype, when i open facebook, people are discussing about that, when i open twitter account, people also are complaining about that, and also not forget forum, cyber cafe, and so on... the thing is don't take it for granted. The law is made by human.. human is not perfect and yet still need to revise in the future

And it will get much worse.
Like David I. said it is The Totalitarian Tiptoe.
Small moves and acts leading to more an more repression, new laws and power to the few "selected" people in dark suits.
I'm not conspiracy theory lover, but fool can see that this centralization of power has been planned long time before and the sad part is that people will vote or ask for it because of the famous "Problem-Reaction-Solution" theory.
I really HOPE that people will realize what is going on and act accordingly, if not we will soon pass the point from no return.

Few months ago I posted documentary, I assume majority saw it, but for you who still didn't, here is the link again:

I see where you're coming from, but if everyone thought like this ... nobody would oppose it, the laws would get passed and the internet as we know it would cease to exist.

How is this even legal? And why does the government insist on ruining the freedoms of the internet? The only outcome of this is chaos, first the economies are going to collapse, then the citizens are going to start uprising. It may take 5 years or 10 but if they keep pushing everyone in this direction I can see these very things happening. I hope they don't, but the gov just won't stop and if you look at history the only outcomes have been bad.
