Hello all, the other day I was surfing the net and found these. Can't hold my sharing here as I believe these are very essential tips for internet marketing. Here is the 5 formulas-

1. Understand that everything starts with content. The best Internet marketing tool is your content. If you provide original, high quality content (or products, if you are an ecommerce site), people will naturally talk about you. They will visit your site, and even recommend it to their friends. Other sites will want to link to you, without you paying for the link. And search engines will rank you high.

Your content is your best weapon on the Web especially if you do not have vast resources to build branding campaigns and engage in massive advertising.

2. Be persistent. Internet marketing is not a one-shot deal. It is something that you will do on a regular basis using a variety of techniques. Competition on the Web is getting very tough with millions of websites competing for visitors and sales. Big businesses such as Wal-Mart have started to move in on the Web. It will take a lot more effort to get the traffic and sales that you need.

3. Use different techniques. One of the cardinal rules of Internet marketing is relying on a single marketing tactic. The risks are too high if you put all your eggs in one basket. Take for example organic search engine optimization where you rank high in Google, you may be #1 today in your main keyword but if Google updates their algorithm, you can get hit and lose as much as 80% of your traffic. Believe me, it is painful.

4. Track and measure your results. You can only prioritize your internet marketing activities if you know which ones work and which ones don't. Put more resources or dedicate more time in doing activities that can actually bring in traffic. Regularly analyze your web logs or web statistics software to get a clear idea of the most effective Internet marketing strategy for you. Hard data can also help you look at how you can improve the results of each campaign and strategy that you do.

This is especially true if for paid advertising you want to know which ad copy pulls in the most number of customers, what ad creatives are working, and which websites you advertised in can give you the most. Only by looking at the metrics can you assess how well your online marketing efforts are doing.

5. Learn, learn, and learn. Internet marketing is continually evolving: what may be acceptable in 1999 may no longer work or frowned upon in 2009. It also changes rapidly, that books with its lag time from writing to publishing often do not capture the new techniques that people are successfully using in marketing online.

The best resource on Internet marketing are online experts found in blogs, webmaster forums and online publications. Spend time every time reading something. One great resource is WebmasterWorld.com, where you can learn about the latest updates of Google to new ways you can monetize your website.

Yeah! You are right but to earn that 20% traffic( not including from free search enzine traffic ) is too painful process if you rely on basic information.
Try building a list of your visitor's then mail them. this way you'll be well on your way to earn big profits online. thanx..

Some nice basic tips for newcomers to the Internet Marketing.
I would also say that the good list is the key to big $, also you can mail your list if you need some fast cash, but you need to remeber that sending non-stop offers will eventualy turn your list off.

Good point about relying too much on Google - and keywords that are currently ranking on Page 1 cuz that really can change drastically in a single day. That 80/20% Google-To-Everything-Else ratio is typical.

What's really scarey is just how much effort you have spend to try to diversify and build that seemingly 'measly' 20% of steady non-Goog traffic - but you've GOT to do it. I try to think in terms of having a successful business model that even if I got NO Goog traffic at all -- I'd still be able to keep my face fed and self-employed as a webmaster.

once I asked this question on another forum long time before and someone told me that I need at least 2 years of experience to do better with IM. Or I have to go to a IM school to learn. But I don't think its correct. Where I live, there's no IM schools either.

My favorite is number 3 this is so true and is i used to do just seo that not good. You need to have some thorught forum marketing, seo, guest blogging, socail media, bookmarking, and many more methods.

From my point of view, there is one the most important rule doing internet marketing successfully is - UNDERSTAND YOUR SEARCHES. in other words, which is keywords research. If we don't understand what and how people search for, how can we produce content that people looking for?

Marketing is solving people's problems.

My rules for internet marketing are
- content
- attractive theme
- SEO
- adwords + facebook ads
- some give aways

I know one company established in Singapore, they do internet marketing only with adwords

The most important thing i do is if you buy a domain do something with it i have bought random domain that were good but never did anthing to them.

I very agree with the number 4. Track and measure is the important way to ensure you're on the right track. Many successful internet marketer do this, they spend a lot of money just to testing testing and testing, then measure each of the result. When they're find one method that's work, then what they do is just repeat the process and *BAM*, money coming!

Mostly, you wont get success at the first time.
Fall, stand, rinse and repeat.
You will earn then for sure.
