it's one of my favorite things. Guerrilla marketing is where you do unexpected things to market a product. Things like painting a mural, having people performing "live" with a product, like food, or appliances and software.

it can be quite popular and work really well, but you have to be careful because some of the legal aspects of guerrilla marketing is not the same from country to country. You have to work within the law.

I remember an incident....in 1996 cricket world cup, Coca-Cola was official sponsor so obviously Pepsico was not able to promote their brand during world cup match...to avoid this issue....pepsico used Guerilla marketing tricks....they distributed T-Shirt with the logo of Pepsi to all cricket fans who was about to watch cricket worldcup match live from stadium.

A pretty good example. The wiki article can give you more details.

Sometimes the tactic works really well, sometimes you get into trouble for it People expect the generic. Like with antibacterial products, they expect a marketer to compare it to a normal brand. Which is why I think guerrilla marketing can be a useful tool. Many people love surprises and they love to talk about the things they've seen. Create the ultimate guerrilla tactic, and you're all set. It could be a great base for any marketing campaign.

I've heard of guerrilla marketing before, but I have never heard of it in the context of IM. I am curious. Fred and Phoenyx, what type of Guerrilla techniques do you use? Can you give me a few examples?

I think you would have to find out from Fred about that. I have not yet tried anything like that, and even though I know what its about, I have been slightly chicken to try any

This is the best form of marketing to use. I personally use this method everyday for clients and myself. I have made 10 times more money using street style marketing.

That site does have some great examples of guerrilla marketing. When I think of guerrilla marketing, that is the type of marketing I think of. However, I've still never heard of guerrilla marketing in the context of Internet Marketing.
