Well, you may have your own products as well, you can market these products online also.

What you need to have is a selling website and you can promote it through Adwords and other programs like this as well.

What for own products? ebooks, scripts, websites, online services you can promote in adwords, programs like clickbank, other weebsites. Goods like electronic, hardware etc. you can also promote with flyers, radio, tv, magazines, posters etc.

It is always of the product depends on which measure you use advertising

To market or sell a product you must have to advertise it. In advertising you may tell key benefits and services that you may provide. Always promise those services or things hat you may provide to your customer. Banners and mobile marketing are also very important for your quick sales that can reward you in a great way.

I think the best way to advertise your product is using Forums. I always got great success with advertising my services and other stuff on Forums. So if you have product, you must be aware people at top forums about it.

it also depend on your target audience... if physical product maybe you can use traditional method (newspaper, magazine) otherwise do as idrees said.. gain reputation in forum and sell your product

First of all your product would need to be very unique...something no one else is selling in your market or something much better than what's already being sold.
You can market your product until you drop, but that doesn't mean you'll make any sales. Marketing is a very specialistic business and not as easy as most will make it look.

Every market has its competition...meaning if you want to sell your product you'll have to beat the competitors and that's not always an easy task.
Especially if you're just starting out not knowing what steps to take and how to approach your market, etc..
