Thread: Advertising at Facebook = Conversion?

Someone here advertise on Facebook and bring buyers / conversions such as Google Adwords?

I have done some FB marketing on behalf of some offline clients.
Results have varied.

In FB ad targeting is all about demographics, not keywords like Google Adwords.
If you get your demographic right you have a better chance of good clickthrus.

Having said that, in general % clickthrus are a lot lower than with Adwords, but the CPC is lower as well.

as I heard, adwords is more better than facebook ads if you are looking for sales.

You can also target by interest in FB, so for interest based niches FB has potential.

Have a look at the ads that shpw when you are on Facebook - seems to be alot about cars and flat bellies..............

Google Adword ads are always better. I used to Facebook ads and result was not so great. Lot of impressions but very little conversions. Maybe it's because the traffic is less targeted.

Yes, definitely, google adwords are better. FB ads got limited visibility.

Advertising on Facebook is highly effective but you need to make sure that you are capitalizing on the opportunity. However, it is not half as effective as Google Adwords but it does help you create a brand image.

I kinda understand that especially if the product/service is "serious/business" nature, because people are there fro fun and this is not something that you want if you are paying for ads.
I think that adwords only with targeted and carefully chosen sites is the best thing to go.

I agree i do use ad words evan thought msn ad center converts the best per click because most targetted ad system.

I have tried facebook advertising. The results were different everytime. Everything depends on the quality of the product and also the luck.

I'm running an FB campaign right now for an Apps site (AppsBabe.com) the conversion rate is under 2% after 2 days with close to 100k ad views.....

facebook adverts are better to get more hits to websites, once I read that kinda successful story on DP , he just got hits to his site from facebook adverts and earned 200 + a day

In facebook... One can easily specify people to whom ads should show up ... Like age, location, country.. So conversion can be expected. However it also depends on your product.

If you do the facebook ads it best for traffic but not best for conversions. You get traffic but ad traffic good for adsense.

absolutely, facebook traffic is better for adsense sites and sites with CPM ads, google adwords better for CPA and business sites

I love Facebook Ads since i can set it up to be very targeted by using demographic stat i got from website such quantcast.
If you set the ads properly, then you'll get high quality traffic. Usually I'm using FB Ads to add visitor to my fans page. A lot of LIKE = a lot of people in my list = money machine.

Find a CPA offer, promote it with facebook ads.
