Thread: Webinars - useful? or not worth it?

I received an email today from one of my colleagues about the idea that webinars might be a good way to attract new leads. Can this really work? I mean I know it can help to drive sales and traffic, but how would you get something like that off the ground to begin with?

I think you probably need a good list to start with. I know of one marketer that does one every Wednesday, so it must be worth it for him. He brings in a guest most weeks (JV) and they are low key selling events. Basically they usually demo a product.

This is what we might be planning to do. So I thought I would find out about it before I barrel headlong into something I don't quite understand. Would you set it up through skype or something similar?

He uses a service called GoToWebinar that might be a part of GoTo Meeting. Link: Web Conferencing | GoToMeeting They even talk about a 30 day free trial.

Your webinar must be interesting for users/targeted audience, and as WinkOr said you need a list first...
Or if you don't have list it is a good way to generate one with free webinars, just post small parts of webinars in some forums and people will join.

Thanks Nemanja. I will do this. WE don't have a list yet, so I will post the webinars where I can, when they are ready. I think they might be put aside until we have the videos up though. We want to focus on that before we start with webinars. Maybe I can see what the interest factor is and then alter the webinar according to that.

Never tried it but looks like promising.

believe it or not, I still haven't gotten around to it. Things really are hectic around here lately, and webinars have been but on the back burner for now.
