Outsourcing to Odesk, but how to trust ?

Basically just trying to move to bigger projects right now and I cant do that without outsourcing my current work. Outsourcing someone a full time job would be my first time thing.

So if you post some jobs on odesk like link building or hire someone to spam lol, how can you trust them to not steal your accounts list, keywords list, and your whole business model even if they figure it out eventually ?

    Any suggestions ?

You can't, but you can minimize that risk by giving that particular job to trusted members there.
Also you want to check guru.com

I work through odesk, and can truly say that you are going to be looking around a lot to find someone that can be loyal to your business, I mean the are out there, but you have to sift through a lot of others to get to them. Many of them work on around 6 to 7 projects at a time which IMO can lead to confusion if you don't manage your time properly. You can't really keep them from stealing account lists etc. Maybe making sure that they have no other tasks running that serve the same purpose you are hiring them for? lol you could get them to sign an online form stating that they will not use your keywords and accounts list to their own advantage?

You can also outsource on Fiverr for only $5 which is much cheaper than Odesk. When you find someone to do link building projects for you on that site be sure to check out their ratings first to see if they have good reviews.

I just finished a project with a writer from India. Work was acceptable but you get what your willing to pay for. It takes time and a good review of their work history and references. Suggest give a small portion and follow their work from your desktolp. You can do that with ODesk and watch with screen shots keeping track of their progress.

I think thats one of the things that makes odesk as popular as they are. But it is true, you get what you pay for, unless you find a rare gem that works exceptionally for next to nothing. IMO when you post a job on odesk, make the posting by invitation only, then you can browse contractors according to the task you want them to do, and you do the hiring without having your inbox inundated with so many applicants that it literally takes you hours to go through it all. I've noticed that people on odesk market themselves almost as hard as we would market a site.

oDesk is popular because they have the escrow system which builds the trust and can guarantee the payments on time.

    I work sometimes on freelancer.com

I really love that site. Don't have any clue though.

I made my first approx $100 from there only by writing articles

I Agree, Freelancer.com is a good place to outsource your work. To Avoid getting scammed never hire someone with zero feedback, only hire someone with 80% and above completion rate and 80% and above positive feedback.

Also another good place to hire a fulltime backlink builder/article writers/developer is here at onlinejobs.ph (you hire freelancers from the philippines). English communication is good, Labor is affordable, loyal and good work ethics.

I've outsourced, but only through related sites. For example, Joomla, I outsourced from people on Joomla.

You get what you pay for on Fiverr. *Except for my gigs. They were awesome.

It would be ironic if I outsourced from a Fiverr-type of site for work on another Fiverr-type of site. Hmmm.

Recently used Fiverr. This was for a back linking service. Can't say yes or no about quality but plan to give it a few more tries.

Definitely. If you can see how other people in their teams have worked with them, look at their profiles to see what kind of studies they have done etc. it can only be a good thing in the end because you choose the best person for your project, and you have all the information you need to make the right decision.
