Thread: New video games website, best way to promote?

Hi Guys,

I have setup a website selling video games, would like to know what is the best way to promote it?

Articles?
gaming forums that allow my url in signature?
gaming blogs?

Can anyone reccommend me some?

You need to target your audiance first.
Then you need to find out where your future buyers hanging out, then register there and present yourself as a valuable mamber of that community or website.
Then after a while start to offer your product.

I will suggest also that you give something for free and build your list and make some connection with your list first to get some trust then suggest them your product.
This is long term.


For short term, you need to have some money to invest.
Also you need to target your buyesr and find where they hang out.
Then find a way to place your ads there.

As to where hey hand out it's mainly video game review sites so gamespot, ign, gamertrailers - Will register myself on those forums and try get some posts. I offer free delivery and was thinking of offering a free ipod sock or similar products with all my games.

My site will be done soon and I will let you guys have a look.

It is great that you will add some free stuff to your users, but consider to give people something free (in trade for their emails) before you even start to sell your product, that way your mailing list will be ready for immediate advertising to very targeted users.

When you are finished with your website just post it here, we will try our best to give some tought, also don't forget to make good on-page seo foundation.

Agreed - I like the design and the in-site SEO basics seem to have been covered. As Nemanja said, go out there and be active in your target communities. I will take some time but be persistent.
