best thing to do is get your own site some credibility first
if you cant even rank your own website after a whole year then to me that sounds alarm bells

Thanks for the query. Friend Personally I do not recommend Paid Traffic for Website with Adsense. Never knows when Google do the worst. Also they are hard in helping too. Try Search Submission (On regular interval but not frequent), Directory Submission, Link Building (Not Much a day I say), Forum Posting, Press Release, Banner Advertisement, Signatures Post etc.

everyone is after traffic for their site and always looking for ways to improve it BUT not all traffic is usefull

Just don't use paid traffic for adsense site even though company claims traffic deliver would be adsense safe. just my 2 cent.

and one more thing, page rank would be assign to particular site based on primary keyword only so if you are targeting those low competition keywords, your site may get page rank 1 or 2 or so on but it won't do much good or won't be making you much money coz lack of traffic.

now for adsense site, you may start targeting other keywords by creating other post or pages on your site which will bring additional traffic.

but for non adsense site, you may either do media buy or in other words to say get paid traffic.

conclusion, page rank is not that important but importance is where is your site ranking in google for your primary keyword as well as additional keywords. just remember traffic = money. ;-)
